Passengers aged 12 and under traveling alone (UM) are not permitted to travel with a PETC. Buggy-style strollers used for transporting pets are treated as baggage and loaded into the cargo hold. What are the fees for traveling with a pet?
Cabin (PETC): 600 TRY on domestic flights, 750 TRY on TRNC flights, 65 EUR on international flights. Hold (AVIH) domestic: AVIH(S) 700 TRY, AVIH(B) 800 TRY. Hold TRNC: AVIH(S) 850 TRY, AVIH(B) 950 TRY. Hold on international flights is not permitted.
Is there a limit on the number of pets per passenger or per flight?
Pets are accepted on board within certain limits per flight. If the limit is reached, your pet cannot be accepted. A single carrier can accommodate a puppy, a mother and her puppy, or two animals of the same species accustomed to living together, counted as 1 PETC. Advance booking via the call centre is strongly recommended.
Are there any breed restrictions for pets traveling in the cabin or cargo?
Wild, predatory, and fighting dogs are not accepted. Restricted breeds include: American Pit Bull, Fila Brazileiros, Japanese Tosa, Pit Bull Terrier, Togo Argentinos, American Staffordshire Terrier, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Doberman, Mastiff, American Bulldog, Caucasian Ovcharka, Mastino Napoletano, and Chow Chow. Kangal dogs are accepted only up to 6 months of age.
What documents and health certificates are required to travel with a pet?
Cats and dogs over 3 months of age must be vaccinated against rabies annually. Passengers travelling to EU countries must hold animal passports for their pets. An Import License is required for non-commercial live animals transported to the TRNC. National legislation and regulations of all relevant countries (departure, arrival, transfer, transit) must be reviewed and all necessary documents prepared in advance.
How do I book a flight for my pet, and can I do it online?
You must make a reservation for your pet by calling the Pegasus Call Centre on 0090 850 250 67 77. Online booking for pets is not mentioned as an option.
Are there special requirements for international travel with a pet?
On international flights, only cabin travel (PETC) is permitted for cats and dogs; hold transport (AVIH) is not allowed. Live animals are not accepted on flights to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, or Qatar, and Pegasus does not transport live animals to or from the UK. EU-bound passengers must hold animal passports. All relevant national legislation must be checked in advance.
What is the airline's policy on sedating pets during travel?
For nervous, aggressive, or restless animals, it is the passenger's responsibility to administer medication under veterinary supervision at an appropriate time before the flight.
