Cabin pet fee: $50–$59 CAD/USD for travel within/between Canada and the U.S.; $100–$118 CAD/USD for travel between Canada/U.S. and all destinations outside the U.S. One pet per guest, one pet per kennel. Kennel counts as the passenger's personal item in carry-on allowance. UltraBasic guests on routes without carry-on allowance are still permitted to bring an empty kennel or pet in kennel in addition to their personal item. Pet must be able to stand, sit, turn around, and lie down comfortably in the kennel. Kennel must be soft-sided, airline-approved, leak-proof, secure, well-ventilated, and must not allow the animal's head to stick out. Pets not accepted in Business cabin on the 787 Dreamliner. Pet must remain in kennel stored under the seat at all times. Space is limited; pre-booking strongly recommended at least 48 hours before departure. A pet may not travel with an unaccompanied minor. Kennel fee can be paid via contact centre by credit card or Travel Bank funds.

Call WestJet Special Care Desk at least 48 hours before departure (at least 7 days for UK travel). Emotional support animals not accepted as of August 5, 2021. WestJet accepts one service dog per person with a disability; two service dogs accepted if itinerary includes a U.S. flight. Service dogs not accepted on flights to/from Bridgetown (Barbados), Montego Bay and Kingston (Jamaica), and Rio Hato (Panama). Pre-approval required for travel to Antigua, Belize, Cayman Islands, France, Hawaii, Iceland, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, United Kingdom, and United States. Service dogs not permitted in emergency exit rows and may not occupy an empty seat. If the dog does not fit at the passenger's feet, additional floor space is free of charge within Canada; a second seat may be purchased for flights outside Canada. For oversized service dogs, WestJet may rebook or transport the dog in the hold at no charge (guest must provide kennel). Working dogs (non-disability assistance) are charged the pet in cabin fee and are subject to the same cabin restrictions.
Cats travelling in cabin may be moved toward the rear of the aircraft if a guest with a severe allergy to cat dander is also on board, per Canadian Transportation Agency buffer zone requirements. Pets are not accepted on itineraries which include flights operated by code-share and interline partners.
